Q360 is our favorite ERP for the integration industry. Here's what we build on top of it.
Solutions360's Q360 is one of the sharpest tools for AV integrators, security installers, and systems consultants we've worked with. It handles projects, quoting, inventory, service tickets, and accounting in one coherent model. We've been running and extending Q360 deployments for years — our founders were Q360 admins, developers, and integrator operators before Rubi existed.
So we know the parts Q360 does brilliantly, and the parts where integrators still end up doing manual work. This post is about the second category — the place where Rubi's Q360 practice lives.
Rubi's founders were Q360 admins and operators running integration businesses before we started consulting. Every solution we built for Q360 was first built for our own use. We know the edges of the platform — and more importantly, we know which architectural boundaries are by design and which gaps benefit from extended functionality.
The Rubi-Q360 practice at a glance.
Q360 is an excellent foundation. Everything we build bolts onto it — we never rip out what works.
Integrations.
Reports & Dashboards.
- Custom SSRS / FRx reports — quotes, invoices, purchase orders, sales orders, and project reports tailored to how your team actually presents information to customers and internal stakeholders. We write the ones the vendor templates don't cover.
- Live KPI dashboards — Q360 Dashboards for the people who live in Q360, or Power BI for executives and finance teams who want cross-source reporting. We wire the data pipeline on both sides.
- Operational reporting — labor vs budget, project margin, AR aging, inventory turns, sales velocity — the standard KPIs every AV shop cares about, delivered in a format the CFO will actually read.
Workflow customization.
Q360 is powerful but not infinitely flexible out of the box. We write workflow customizations for shops that need something beyond the standard behavior:
- Accounting automation — auto-approval rules for invoices under a threshold, multi-entity postings, journal entry templates
- Purchase order workflows — approval routing, vendor selection rules, automated PO creation from projects
- Project milestones — automated billing triggers, customer notifications, change-order workflows
- Sales pipeline — custom stage gates, quote approval, commission calculation rules
Data migration.
If you're acquiring another integration shop or merging two Q360 databases, data migration is often the single biggest blocker. We've done multi-company consolidations, legacy ERP-to-Q360 migrations, and Q360 major-version upgrades. If data is holding up your strategy, let's talk.
Migration projects we typically take on:
- Legacy ERP to Q360 — moving from an older platform (Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics SL, etc.) with customers, history, inventory, and open transactions intact
- Q360 major version upgrades — taking existing customers through a version jump with custom code, reports, and data-cleanup passes
- M&A consolidations — merging two Q360 instances into one after an acquisition, reconciling customer duplicates, product masters, and financial history
- Q360 to newer ERP — less common, but we've helped a few clients move OFF Q360 when their business outgrew it (typically to NetSuite or a customized Odoo deployment)
Frequently asked questions.
Yes — that's most of what we do. Small-scope engagements (a new integration, a custom report set, a workflow tweak) are often 1-4 weeks. We don't force you into a massive re-platform just because we showed up.
We work alongside Solutions360 but we're an independent consultancy. That means we can advise clients honestly about where Q360 fits and where it doesn't, without a vendor's licensing incentives in the background.
Usually yes. Q360 exposes enough API surface to read and write most of what you need. If your custom tool has any form of API or database access, we can wire them together.
We do training as part of most engagements. The goal is that your team can maintain the integrations and reports we build without needing us for every change. Knowledge transfer is part of the deliverable.
